Devotions #2
Let me tell you about neon-tinselled showers
& musicals set for midnight bells. About how
your masquerade mask shimmers in the dark
when I rip it off your satin skin
In this euphoric cacophony of carousing
let us not be serene, but instead screeching reveries
like mirror balls swinging from a rainy streetlamp
We dive headfirst & the night is a bewildering coverlet
around our star-seeking bodies, glitter-drawn breaths,
never forgetting the pastoral symphonies we will sing
but only for each other, on this stage
of similarly fervid skyscrapers, now ours to rule
